Materials

The balloon is divided into curved gores, navy glass with a glittering sheen alternating with pale blue, and two horizontal lead lines split it into two tiers. The basket is a separate piece of deep red glass, hung beneath the balloon on two short lengths of chain as a charm, so it sways on its own whenever the piece turns. The two hooks that carry the basket are where the solder has to bear weight.
