Send a design enquiryYou have a space, an occasion, or a piece you can picture — and no drawing of it. Solar takes that part: reads the enquiry, works up a scheme, divides the colour fields, and hands over the drawings with a materials plan.
Making it and fitting it are yours to place: Solar carries on if you want, or you take the drawings to anyone else. They work the same either way.

You send the enquiry
The space or the piece, the size if you know it, the occasion and the feeling you want. Reference images if you have them.

Solar works up the scheme
A design drawing, the colour fields divided, the glass chosen. Revised with you until it is right.

The drawings are handed over
The drawings and the materials plan are yours. Enough for any workshop to read and build from.
Your own design
Bring the idea
you already have
An animal you like, a flower, a character, or a shape only you understand — any of it can become a piece of stained glass.
You are welcome to bring your own design. Solar goes over it with you, advises on size, and adjusts the detail to suit what glass can do and how long a session lasts — so that making it stays possible without losing what the design was about.
No idea yet is fine too — Solar keeps a set of templates you can choose from, or take further in your own direction.
What to know before booking
6 things- Stained glass
- Ages 14 and up. Cutting, grinding and soldering ask for a steady hand and some care. Children under 14 are welcome alongside a parent, taking the gentler parts — choosing colours, cleaning the glass.
- Experience
- You do not need to draw, and you do not need to have made anything by hand before. The session is built for beginners — bring curiosity and an afternoon.
- How long
- A stained glass session runs about four hours.
- When
- Monday to Sunday, two sittings a day: 09:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 18:00.
- The session includes
- Every material and tool, guidance throughout from one of Solar's team, and the finished piece to take home.
- What you take home
- Your own piece, with a mark on it that will not be repeated.
