Materials

This lotus is two layers of work. The first is the fitting: a grained violet heart, black and pink petals opening either side, green leaves holding it from below. The second is what the eye finds first — tin wire curled into leaf veins and small rings on each petal, then soldered up onto the glass. The wire holds no piece; it is a line drawn in solder, and bending it evenly on both sides is the craft.
