Materials

The word Solar was the hardest part: every stroke is a ribbon of lead bent freely, with no piece of glass holding its shape, so the solder line has to be the letter and the load-bearing frame at once. The orange sun beneath carries the whole word, and each planet is a different glass — grained, bubbled, glittering — so a row of circles does not become a row of the same circle.
